New Audible Plus Romance Books
The Starter Ex
By: Mia Sosa
Narrated by: Noah B. Perez, Miranda Jay
Length: 7 hrs and 59 mins
I adored The Starter Ex so very, very much and it’s one of the most popular audiobooks in Audible Plus this Spring!
Vanessa is a somewhat tragic heroine and I immediately rooted for her. She beats herself up a lot but she deserves all the good things.
I was also extremely invested in the journey of Vanessa’s younger sister. Somewhere around the middle of the book, I got a strong inkling of where it would go. And I was absolutely delighted that things turned out so well for her, too!
The Starter Ex is an all-around fun and entertaining Contemporary Romance audiobook with a beautiful narration by Anthony Rey Perez and Miranda Jay.
A Murder to Remember
By: Brynn Kelly
Narrated by: Brittany Pressley, Max Roll
Length: 10 hrs and 3 mins
Amelia Bennett’s perfect vacation fling takes a dark turn when she and charming aristocrat Tom Calder suspect they witnessed a murder in a drunken haze. However, the body vanishes, and they find themselves pursued by shadowy figures.

New and Popular Audiobooks in Audible Plus: Thriller and Mystery
We Play Games
By: Sarah A. Denzil
Narrated by: Billie Piper, Dan Stevens, Shane Zaza, Avita Jay, Felicity Duncan, David Holt, Sarah Whitehouse
Length: 8 hrs and 41 mins
This popular audiobook left me with so many feelings. I picked it up because I adore Billie Piper and I wasn’t surprised to find out that she is a gifted voice actor. She filled the story with so much life!
But it is also a story with many twists and turns and, personally, I would have liked a different ending. But I can still recommend this excellent Thriller audiobook, if only for the great voices and multi-cast production that’s very fun to listen to.
The Justice
By: James Patterson, Aaron Cooley
Narrated by: Sanaa Lathan, David Rasche, Susan Kelechi Watson, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Luke Tennie, full cast
Length: 2 hrs and 57 mins
As so often with Audible Originals, I get them for the voice actors more so than for the author. And that’s strongly the case with The Justice, too.
I found that the story had quite some surprises in store, but more than anything, it was Sanaa Lathan as a Supreme Court Justice facing blackmail who kept me hooked to this book and made me finish it in one sitting.
Whether it’s for the author or for the cast, The Justice is one of the most popular audiobooks in Audible Plus now!

Popular Plays and Fiction Audiobooks in Spring 2024
Hot White Heist 2
By: Adam Goldman
Narrated by: Bowen Yang, Jane Lynch, Cynthia Nixon, Shannon Woodward, Full Cast
Length: 2 hrs and 38 mins
Without having listened to Hot White Heist season 1, I jumped into this. And I can tell you that, firstly, this second part works well enough on its own, and secondly, I will absolutely also listen to the first part still!
The main reason why I didn’t do it right away was that I found I struggle with Audible’s own fiction podcasts that come in very short episodes and require me to constantly click play again lol
This second part is in “proper” audiobook format though and the all-queer cast of this extremely queer adventure story was absolutely delightful! I had a blast listening to them breaking the fourth wall and trying to manage the fall-out from the first season’s crime.
The Door to Tamba
By: Ishmael Beah
Narrated by: Maduka Steady
Length: 51 mins
Ishmael Beah’s “The Door to Tamba” explores a West African mining village and the profound impact of environmental devastation on the community. The protagonist, Hindolo, reminisces about an old man who introduced him to literature as an escape. Hindolo’s journey involves sharing stories on stolen paper, reflecting on the fundamental aspects of storytelling and its impact on liberation.

Happy listening!
Eline Blackman (pronouns: she/they) fell in love with books as a child – with being read to and reading herself. 10 years ago, she bought her first Audible book. It was love at first listen! An average of 250 audiobooks per year has become the new normal and you will rarely see Eline without a wireless earbud. Romance and Fantasy are the go-to genres for this audiobook fan.
This is a great collection!
