Audible Plus is an unlimited audiobook subscription for $7.95/month. You get access to over 30,000 audiobooks, stream or download as many as you want, no credits needed, no returns required. Think Netflix, but for audiobooks.
If you have an Audible Premium Plus membership (the standard plan with credits), you already have Plus access included at no extra cost. But you can also subscribe to Plus by itself for the cheaper monthly fee and still get as much listening as you want.

What’s Included in Audible Plus?
The Plus catalog includes over 30,000 human-narrated audiobooks across fiction and nonfiction. Here’s the breakdown:
- Audible Originals: 2,000+ exclusive productions (often full-cast, celebrity narrators)
- Audible Studios: 4,000+ titles produced by Audible
- Recorded Books, Tantor, GraphicAudio: About 10,000 titles from these publishers
- Other publishers and indie authors: The rest of the catalog
New titles are added monthly. Most audiobooks, especially Audible Originals, stay in the catalog permanently. Some titles from other publishers may rotate out. Audible notifies you if a book in your library is being removed.
The AI problem: Due to Amazon’s decisions, the Plus catalog is being flooded with AI-generated audiobooks. I’ve created a filtered link to browse only human-narrated titles. You can also check out my guide on how to filter Virtual Voice audiobooks yourself.

How Audible Plus Works
Audible Plus titles don’t have a “1 credit” label. Instead, they show “Play” or “Add to Library” buttons. You can stream them or download for offline listening.

Key differences from regular Audible:
- No borrowing limits, no credits – add as many included titles as you want
- No returns needed – keep titles as long as your subscription is active
- Access ends when subscription ends – downloaded titles are automatically removed
It’s truly unlimited. Browse, download, listen. That simple.

Is Audible Plus Worth It?
Choose Audible Plus if:
- You listen to multiple audiobooks per month
- You’re budget-conscious ($7.95 is the cheapest unlimited audiobook subscription I know of)
- You’re happy discovering books rather than seeking specific titles
- You love Audible Originals (full-cast productions, celebrity narrators)
Skip Audible Plus if:
- You want specific bestsellers or new releases (most aren’t in Plus)
- You want to own your audiobooks permanently
- You have very specific genre tastes and can’t find enough titles that interest you
- You have free library access with a comparable selection (Hoopla, Libby)
My take: I’ve been an Audible customer for over 10 years, and honestly, I love Audible Plus, specifically for the Originals. As an audiobook blogger, I’ve always gotten the impression that (corporate interests aside) there are some people at Audible who genuinely love audiobooks. Their exclusive productions are truly fun, with excellent voice actors, often full casts, very current, and make for special listening experiences.
At $7.95 for unlimited listening, it’s a solid deal. The caveat is whether you find enough audiobooks that interest you. 30,000 titles sounds like a lot, but if you’re very specific about narrators, genres, or length, you might run out of attractive content faster than you’d like, especially if you listen daily.
For casual listeners or people who enjoy trying new authors and genres, I think Audible Plus is absolutely worth it. You can also read more in my article Is Audible worth it?

Happy listening!
Eline Blackman (pronouns: she/they) fell in love with books as a child – with being read to and reading herself. 11 years ago, she bought her first Audible book. It was love at first listen! An average of 200 audiobooks per year has become the new normal, and you will rarely see Eline without a wireless earbud. Romance and Fantasy are the go-to genres for this audiobook fan.

I used to use Libby and Overdrive, but one day my library card expired and when I got it renewed and signed back in, all of the books were gone! Not literally all, of course, but the genres I listened to were suddenly missing and so there was no purpose using the apps anymore. I hope to get an Audible subscription soon so I can listen to some audio books on my coming up road trip!!! Paying for a subscription gives more security than a free service, for sure.
That’s a shame with your library access. I hope you will enjoy Audible 🙂 It’s a pretty great service!
What hardware do I need to listen to Audible Plus?
You can use Audible Plus on any device that can install the Audible app 🙂 For most people, that would be their iPhone or Android phone. That’s the most convenient option. You can also stream Audible on a desktop computer. The option for that is in your Audible library. There are also other options like TV or Alexa. Here’s Audible’s guide to devices.
