Murder Can Mess Up Your Masterpiece is the start of a new Cozy Mystery series by Rose Pressey. The story is a very entertaining mix of murder mystery, arts, travel trailers, and the paranormal. I was thoroughly entertained!
Also, I can’t stop staring at those book covers. They are THE CUTEST!! They even have different art for the ebook and audiobook. And both are adorable.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the publisher. I decided to review it.
Murder Can Mess Up Your Masterpiece **
(A Haunted Craft Fair Mystery Book 1)
written by Rose Pressey, narrated by Rachel Dulude
Celeste Cabot
I liked Celeste, the heroine. She was interesting, relatable, not much of a badass, but also not meek. And I’m really intrigued by her ability. I very much hope to learn more about this as the series continues! It’s a unique one.
For me, the trickiest point in Cozy Mysteries is to make it believable why this random, normal person starts investigating a murder. And in this book, I felt Celeste’s motivation. She didn’t so much intend to investigate, she’s just naturally curious and didn’t take too many risks. When the opportunity presented itself, she took a closer look at what someone was doing or hiding.
And I loved her little sidekick that you can see on the book covers, a Chihuahua named Van Gogh, usually called Van.
The Murder Mystery
The story has quite a lot of different layers and I wasn’t entirely sure how this would end. Celeste’s special psychic ability helped her to solve the case even though it was a mystery in itself.
As usual in a cozy, the victim isn’t one you’ll mourn. It couldn’t have happened to a nicer person. Celeste isn’t the main suspect but she’s concerned about staying at the craft fair with a murderer.
Narration
I believe this was my first time listening to Rachel Dulude. Her voice is beautiful, I adored her Southern accent, and the narration was absolutely perfect. Celeste’s feelings and motivations came out really well.
Recommendation
Murder Can Mess Up Your Masterpiece was released as an ebook on October 29th. The audiobook is coming out on the first of November. And if you’re a fan of paranormal Cozies, you should definitely give this one a try!
If you’re a fan of Cozy Mystery audiobooks, you should also check out my favorites in Audible Escape and Kindle Unlimited!

I am going to check these out. I do like a cosy mystery and agree about those wonderful covers. Thank you for the info.
Oh, nice, I hope you’ll enjoy it! 🙂
looks sweet – I enjoy cozies between more intense reads
Makes sense, they’re very relaxing reads.
I tried my first cosy mystery a few weeks ago and whilst the book was good I realised that the genre wasn’t for me, I prefer full blown thrillers/mysteries. I do love the covers of the cosy mysteries though.
The covers are the best 😀 But yeah, there’s a huge difference between a Cozy and Thrillers.
