Delilah Green has been through a lot and has built up a very badass, tough outer shell to hide her soft, mushy, artist soul center.
Both her love story with Claire, the girl she had been pining for since they were kids, and the journey she takes with her step-sister are heart-wrenching!
All the characters in this story are so lovable, and I enjoyed the build-up very much. In the first chapter from Delilah’s point of view, we hear about her terrible step-sister and her awful friends. Just to jump to Claire’s point of view, the step-sister’s best friend!
While not every dysfunctional family is only based on misunderstandings, it worked so well here, and I loved to see an all-around happy ending for Delilah.
Kristen DiMercurio was absolutely fantastic to listen to! I crushed hard on Delilah.

How does an F/F version of Punk 57 sound to you? To me, it sounded very exciting indeed! And I was not disappointed by Penelope Douglas’ venture into Lesbian Romance.
Similar to Punk 57, the bully is not really in control, and her victim lands quite a few painful hits as well.
This is a fairly long book because Clay and Olivia have to come a long way to trust each other. Especially Clay, coming from a rich, conservative family, struggles with her feelings and sexuality.
Tryst Six Venom is an angsty high school Romance, and you have to be in the right mood for it. But when you are, it’s amazing!
The audiobook is narrated by Desireé Ketchum and Valentina Ortiz, who have very different-sounding voices, which I enjoyed so much in this dual PoV book. And both did a fantastic job bringing this epic love story to life!

Eline Blackman (pronouns: she/they) fell in love with books as a child – with being read to and reading herself. 10 years ago, she bought her first Audible book. It was love at first listen! An average of 250 audiobooks per year has become the new normal and you will rarely see Eline without a wireless earbud. Romance and Fantasy are the go-to genres for this audiobook fan.
Thank you for the recs! I’ve added a few onto my virtual wanna reads; I can see myself really loving telling lies online, as i’m a sucker for novels involving text-based convos!
Oh yes, please give it a go! Telling Lies Online is one of those completely underrated books that way more people should know. It’s really fun!
I’m not sure what you are talking about. Telling lies online sucked. It was one or the most poorly written books and it was based on a lie that just kept building. I the snowballing and the bad writing only made things worse.
Thank you for your comment! I’m sure most readers know that feeling of looking at a best-of list and thinking “but why that one???”
And I understand where you are coming from insofar that misunderstanding/miscommunication books can be extremely exasperating.
All that being said, the audiobook of Telling Lies Online is one of my favorite WlW RomComs. The narration brings the book to life wonderfully! Not every book is for every person and my goal in these book lists is to give back exactly those pieces of information (like the lie going on and on) that can be very “make or break” for people and their personal preferences.
“No two persons ever read the same book” 🙂
Of the books in this list, One Last Stop and Written in the Stars stands out the most. They are funny, diverse, and of course laden in “true” romance. Don’t sleep on the author/narrator relationship… It takes a truly tuned-in narrator to bring the words alive! I highly recommend these books. And if you like those books, you’ll like Wrong Number, Right Woman by Jae.
